Another Terror Attack: How Many Deaths Will It Take For Modi, Shah & Co To Stop Milking Hate?
Pragya Singh Thakur, prime accused in 2008 Malegaon blasts that killed 6 and injured 100 was elected to parliament by Modi-Shah-RSS’s BJP. People who did not condemn her felicitation are now condemning the recent attack in Pahalgam.

Is there anything new that can be said about a terror attack that has not been said previously? There was another in January 2024 which prompted me to write below rant. Many of the questions raised in below rant are again being raised now with regards to what union government has been doing in Kashmir, and what it has not been doing.
Notice how every Muslim you know has by now condemned the terror attack — one that’s not even committed by their own countrymen. But they are still condemning it and disassociating their religion from the act, and asking for justice.
Compare that to whatever you did when Indian armed forces personnel asked religion and shot people in a crowded train. Or when an elderly Muslim man with beard and cap was beaten in train. Or when so many Muslims were killed with chants of Jai Shri Ram. Or when Delhi minister gave hate speech while police stood beside him. Or when Modi minister gave hate speech from a stage. Or when Modi MP abused a Muslim MP inside parliament. The list of instances when Hindus have kept mum when it suited them is long and to top it all, so many of them are using a terror attack to further their hate now. There’s nothing more abominable than using lowest moment as this to target a community which is already under attack.
Terrorists do what terrorists do. They are not same as ordinary people. They were not from among us. Fact is, we cannot control what outside elements should and should not do. We cannot fix accountability on others. But we can fix accountability on our side. We can control what is ours, what’s on our side of border.
Modi government over the years has shut down press in Kashmir completely. Local editors and prominent news persons are kept in prisons. This has systematically cut off outside world from knowing what’s happening in Kashmir. Union govt then used godi media to fill this vaccum to bombard us with propaganda that everything was peaceful in Kashmir. This lie was going to get bust sooner or later.
Terror attacks don’t happen in vaccum. People don’t pick guns because they are bored.
Not to forget Kashmir is one of the most militarized zone in entire world. Last time a car full of explosives had gone and crashed into army convoy. But even then govt did not allow questions asked of it. What were union intelligence agencies doing? Did they have no information? What are armed forces on ground doing? Year ago a fraudster from Gujarat claiming to be close to Modi was not just allowed but personally taken on rounds of army patrol bases.
We need to ask questions of government and its agencies if we want such attacks not to repeat. But instead we will again target a community inside our borders that has nothing to do with terrorists that killed civilians in Kashmir because it’s easier and also we are familiar with this drill.
Vishwa Hindu Parishad kept an event in honor of Bilkis’s rapists and garlanded them. Recently another Hindu organization garlanded person convicted for killing Graham Staines. How many Hindus condemned these acts and said this is not what Hinduism preaches? The Malegaon blast happened in 2006 during Friday prayers near a mosque. Its primary accused Pragya Thakur was later voted into power in 2019 by Right Wing Hindus and elected as a BJP MP.
Hindus have lot to learn from Muslims. Condemning violence perpetrated in their name is one such thing. Not rallying behind bomb blast accused, rapists, hate speech perpetrators, bigots, murderers, etc., is another. Will they at least upgrade themselves hereafter? Will Hindus stop cheering hate crimes from now on? Everyone knows the answer.
